Additional Educational Needs
At Adelaide Primary School the emphasis is on a whole school approach. All staff are responsible for the educational progress and social wellbeing of the children in their care. They are familiar with the procedures which must be followed to identify and assess children who may have additional needs.
All children are valued, respected and welcomed into our school community. They are treated as individuals and we respect and encourage their particular skills and qualities. It is important to note however, that our ongoing teacher assessments ensure we move all children forward – whatever their ability.
Some children may need extra support with an aspect of learning and if they do, this is provided by the class teacher and class based teaching assistants. At times, more specific support is also required. Adelaide Primary School has a comprehensive 'Toolkit of Provisions' from which it may draw on in order to help to close the gap in attainment.
